CompassPicks is an independent editorial review hub and is reader-supported. Some — but not all — of the outbound links on this site are affiliate links. When you click an affiliate link and complete a qualifying purchase or signup on the merchant's site, the merchant may pay us a small commission. This never changes the price you pay.
Which partnerships we work with
We operate independently of any single affiliate network. Over time we've worked with a mix of industry-standard affiliate networks, direct brand partnerships, and referral programs — and we may add or remove partnerships as we find new brands worth reviewing (or retire ones that no longer meet our quality bar). We don't promote the specific networks behind any particular link because the relationship is between us and the merchant, not something that should affect your click.
How to spot an affiliate link on this site
- All outbound links to merchant sites on review pages carry
rel="sponsored nofollow"per search-engine guidelines. - Each review page shows a disclosure banner near the primary call to action.
- The homepage and every category hub page display a site-wide disclosure banner above the fold.
How commissions could — but do not — influence us
We want to be honest about the incentive structure. Affiliate commissions vary wildly between merchants. A brand paying a 10% commission could, in theory, tempt a publisher to rank it above a brand paying 2%, even if the 2% brand is genuinely better. We reject that trade. Specifically:
- We rank listings by our editorial rating, not by commission rate.
- We do not accept payment to review a product, to adjust a rating, or to remove a negative review.
- If a partner lowers its commission rate after we review it, the review does not change. If the partner degrades in quality, the rating drops — regardless of commission.
- We do not participate in "preferred partner" arrangements where a network or brand pays for higher placement.
Compliance
This disclosure is intended to comply with the U.S. Federal Trade Commission's Endorsement Guides, the UK Competition and Markets Authority's guidance on influencer marketing, and equivalent consumer-protection rules in the EU and other jurisdictions.
